Power Trader, Sr. jobs in the United States

General Overview:

The Senior Power Trader will be responsible for managing and optimizing the power trading portfolio. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong analytical background and a proven track record in the energy markets. The successful candidate will execute trading strategies, analyze market trends, manage risk, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategy Development: Develop, implement, and refine innovative trading strategies.
• Trading Operations: Execute daily trading strategies to optimize profitability and manage exposure in power markets.
• Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis to develop actionable insights and inform trading decisions.
• Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate trading risks to ensure a balanced and profitable portfolio.
• Compliance: Ensure all trading activities adhere to regulatory requirements and internal company policies.
• Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports on trading performance, market conditions, and strategy outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 2-10 years of experience in power trading managing your VaR and PnL.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus.
• Analytical Skills: Quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to interpret and act on complex data.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with trading platforms, fundamental analysis, modelling, and risk management software.
• Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic trading environment and make informed decisions under pressure.
