About Tiger, Georgia
Tiger is a town in Rabun County, Georgia, United States. The population was 408 at the 2010 census. Tiger was incorporated in 1904.
There are two popular legends as to the derivation of the town's name: the first is that it was named after a Cherokee chief named Tiger Tail, while the second (and more likely) story is that the name originated from the cry of roaming panthers. Old U.S. 441 runs though the town and offers a relaxing drive throughout all the season’s of the year.
