Printing Press Operator
Description:
We are a fast-growing South Plainfield, NJ commercial print and direct mail firm. We are looking for a high energy, solution-oriented individual with the knowledge and understanding that spans across all aspects of press operation. We are an operator for our 8-color RMGT perfecting press. (We also run digital presses which this position may be able to learn and transition in to as well.) This position will collaborate with all other departments to ensure timely and accurate production schedules. Integral to the success of this position will be the ability to manage a multitude of projects in a fast paced, deadline driven environment and be able to communicate effectively within the organization.
Position Summary:
1. Responsible for operating printing equipment and producing products maintaining the company quality standards accurately and efficiently.
2. Perform and record maintenance of all kinds to include scheduled, preventative and corrective.
3. Responsible for reading and understanding the job ticket.
4. Must complete the job ticket and sign off on the piece count.
5. Responsible for training personnel, creating a working team and sharing information with the next shift.
6. Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping on the equipment and the pressroom floor.
7. Responsible for finding and eliminating waste in Pressroom production process.
8. Responsible for making sure Air Quality data is entered and is correct. Also responsible for entering in Ink Usage.
9. Responsible for crew's safe operation of printing presses in accordance with Cal/OSHA standards.
10. Responsible for following Hazardous Materials procedures.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
1. Must possess extensive knowledge of Web Printing.
2. Ability to use QTI closed loop color system.
3. Ability to recognize and adjust ink densities.
4. Ability to understand all mechanical functions of Press.
5. Ability to understand ink roller train.
6. Knowledge of paper qualifications necessary to produce job.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years Printing Press operator experience.
Compensation:
$34/hr
