Being an Principal Architect has a diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices, uses advanced techniques, and has responsibility for final specifications, approval of ordered materials, and overall guidance on objectives and concepts. Ensures architectural designs are completed on time and adhere to the established specifications and standards. Additionally, Principal Architect keeps up to date on the development of new architectural methods or techniques. Requires a bachelor's degree in architecture. Requires a State Architect's License. Typically reports to a director. The Principal Architect typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity.
