Reviews job specifications and complete setup tasks, including filling ink, calibrating machine, and loading stock. Being a Printer conducts visual inspection of samples prior to running job. Performs in-process quality inspections utilizing standard testing protocols. Additionally, Printer completes all required production logs and documentation. Interprets equipment diagnostics, troubleshoots breakdowns, and makes necessary adjustments to complete the job. Performs regular maintenance, cleaning, and changeovers of press from one job to another. Maintains a clean and safe workspace. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Printer works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Duties:
- Operate printing presses and other equipment to produce printed materials
- Set up and adjust printing machines according to job specifications
- Monitor printing process to ensure quality and make adjustments as needed
- Perform routine maintenance on printing equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with printing equipment
- Collaborate with graphic designers and clients to ensure accurate reproduction of designs
- Ensure proper color management and consistency in printed materials
- Assist with layout design, typography, and other aspects of print production
- Handle print advertising projects from start to finish
-Requirements:
- Proficiency in operating printing equipment, including digital printers, offset presses, or screen-printing machines.
- Experience with color management in print production
- Familiarity with layout design principles and typography
- Proven experience as a print operator or in similar role, preferably in a commercial printing environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Physical stamina and dexterity to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials when necessary.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate production schedules.
