Private Banking Director oversees all aspects of private banking activities that service the needs of high net-worth clients. Ensures that client relationships are developed and expanded and that the resources of the entire organization are properly leveraged to provide efficient and personalized service delivery. Being a Private Banking Director develops strategies and objectives that include deposit and loan volume goals and effective marketing plans. Implements operations, processes, and team development programs that enhance the achievement of private banking objectives. Additionally, Private Banking Director may act as a consultant for high-value or complex credit decisions. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Private Banking Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Private Banking Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PRIVATE BANKING ASSOCIATE
    This is a multi-function position which focuses on supporting the customer by performing private banker, customer service representative (CSR), trust operations and front office functions at our Dudley and Bridge Street locations. It also provides support to the Officers, and other staff throughout the bank.

    The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following and may be weighted differently depending on the office location:

    Private Banking

    • Review deposit account terms and disclosures with customers as needed
    • Open, close and revise deposit accounts
    • Help customers set up internet banking, bill pay and mobile banking
    • Debit and Credit card assistance – travel notes, increase/decrease debit limitations, card activation, PIN reset, fraud alerts, credit payment details
    • Answer incoming customer phone calls

    CSR

    • Handle teller transactions, wires, close accounts and check orders
    • Scan teller work
    • Safe Deposit Box attendant
    • Service ATM
    • Order cash

    Trust Operations Support (duties may be assigned, depending on office location)

    • Process client cash distributions, client bills, transfers or cash receipts
    • Set up online access accounts and troubleshoot client issues
    • Complete Certificate of Deposit processing
    • Scan and index documents
    • Monitor & process Insurance premium payments
    • Perform account maintenance changes
    • Process IRA distributions
    • Prepare documents
    • Provide administrative support to Officers as needed

    Front Office (duties may be assigned, depending on office location)

    • Assist in opening/closing office
    • Collect and distribute mail
    • Answer incoming phone calls
    • Greet and direct customers to the appropriate associate
    • Maintain conference rooms
    • Prepare, print and bind client presentations
    • Back-up other offices as needed
    • Office related errands (restocking/Post Office, etc.)

    Other duties may be assigned.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    Attention to detail, a high degree of accuracy and the ability to multi-task are essential to this position as well as well as a solid understanding of math concepts, good written communication skills and a desire to solve problems. Knowledge of Windows environment and proficient computer skills are necessary.

    Must enjoy people and be willing and eager to interact pleasantly with customers and fellow associates alike. Must understand the team concept and be able to function as a member of a team as the team works towards a common goal.

    It is essential to observe the strictest secrecy and confidentiality on the subject of accounts and activities of any kind of dealing with the bank and maintain a high level of enthusiasm and customer awareness while conveying our confidence in the Bank and the services that are offered.
