  • Job Description:  Senior Level analyst position that also acts as a subject matter expert (SME) and provides experienced level staff with advanced or escalated support for the Client Service Center. This position must be able to function with a minimal amount of direct supervision and requires a high degree of direct contact with client agency program managers and directors as well as Infrastructure Services Management and the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) on major IT projects.
    Creating and validating Knowledgebase articles for use by CSC Staff in providing helpdesk support. Working with Infrastructure and Agency Services on IT projects and gathering the necessary information to provide procedural direction for support agents. Work closely with both the Foundational Infrastructure Services group and Michigan Security Operations Center group on ongoing support work and participating with IT Projects which enables us to gather information.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    Some significant experience/skill in working with Windows 10/11/WUfB, workstation and/or server operating systems and support administration which includes manipulating Active Directory, SCCM packaged object components and workstation virus scanning/detection systems as well as Bitlocker encryption.
    Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
    Ability to work as a team member or team leader, ability to be a self-starter.
    Knowledge of concepts of computer system detailed network and software structure and support.
    Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems
     Advanced knowledge of Administrative Management Consoles.

    Candidates selected for this position must complete the Michigan State Police background check.  This extensive background check requires fingerprinting for state and federal criminal background records.  The background search will include, but is not limited to arrests, criminal charges, criminal convictions, and any information regarding contact with a criminal justice agency.

    IT Signing Bonus Language
    This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $2,500. Up to $1,250 to be paid upon new hire and the remainder to be paid after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12-month period). This does not apply to current state employees.

    Information Technology Programmer/Analyst P11/12
    Possession of a Bachelor's degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics.

    Experience
    Information Technology Programmer/Analyst 12
    Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11.
    Information Technology Programmer/Analyst P11 - 12
    Possession of an associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in computer science, information assurance, data processing, computer information, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, IT project management, or mathematics and two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician; or two years (4,160 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.

    OR

    Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and four years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, information technology technician, or four years (8,320 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.
    Certain positions may require certification in specific information technology programs.
