Description
You will play a crucial role in optimizing processes within our manufacturing environment. This position involves continuous communication with employees and management regarding processes and procedures, identifying opportunities for improvement across various stages of production, including the melt shop and rolling mills. You will analyze processes to implement enhancements and systems that measure impacts, ensuring optimal efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate with employees and management about processes and potential improvements.
- Analyze each step of processes from scrap preparation to billet handling.
- Identify and implement process improvements within the melt shop and rolling mills.
- Conduct studies to improve technologies for CSRM and the steel industry.
- Collaborate with other departments to share knowledge and skills.
- Conduct training sessions as necessary.
- Identify ways to enhance safety throughout processes.
- Network with industry professionals and maintain memberships in professional associations.
- Frequent climbing, standing, walking, and reaching to access supplies and equipment.
- Ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds and lift/carry up to 20 pounds.
- Frequent stooping, kneeling, and crouching to work on systems or software.
- Continual grasping to move or access supplies and operate tools.
- Repetitive motions of hands/wrists/fingers for office duties.
Work is primarily performed indoors in both an office and manufacturing setting. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided when necessary.
