    In this role you will be part of a team designed to help the Blain’s organization create consistency through standard processes, provide support to stores when exceptions arise in those processes, utilize problem solving techniques to prevent issues from arising again, and take a proactive approach to finding opportunities where processes can be streamlined with or without the utilization of technology. As this work will create a need for change, the individual will be expected to create cross-functional relationships throughout the organization and leverage Blain’s culture to manage change in an effective manner, with minimal disruption. Utilization of company systems such as the learning management system (LMS), enterprise resource planning (ERP), along with understanding of process improvement techniques such as six sigma and lean will be crucial for this role.

    Essential (Primary) Functions

    • Perform daily operational tasks to support all aspects of standardizing processes, to manage issue resolution as needed, while continuing work on process improvement efforts in stores and throughout Blain’s supply.
    • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders while building and leveraging cross functional relationships to support team initiatives.
    • Analyze data and generate reports to support prioritization and decision-making, while also measuring controls to monitor the effectiveness of initiatives.
    • Maintain and create manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training guides in accordance with process standardization.
    • Design and participate in process discovery, pilot tests and rollout plans, which may require travel as needed.
    • Use standard process improvement methodologies like six sigma to effectively create positive changes for the organization.

    Associated Functions

    • Understand and utilize project management and change management principles as appropriate for execution of process change projects.
    • Participate in continuing education and training as appropriate.
    • A knowledge base of retail operations - Preferrably 2-3 years of retail experience
    • Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license; 20-40% travel required
    • Ideal candidate will have secondary education degree in business or related field
    • Previous experience/knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and/or Project Management preferred but not mandatory
