Produce Manager oversees operations and staffing for the produce department within a grocery store.   • Primary Responsibilities:

    • Liaison between Production, storage of materials and supply of inventory and materials to Production.
    • Maintain minimums and maximums of inventory par levels (Just in Time).
    • Liaison between purchasing and inventory levels.
    • Supports the functional objectives within the department: cycle time reduction, on-time completion, supplier on-time delivery performance, inventory turns improvement and ensures all productivity targets are met
    • Ensuring quality, production, cleanliness and budget objectives are met.
    • Ensuring the health, safety, cleanliness and security of the work environment.
    • Takes accurate inventories and ensures product is slotted, inventoried and rotated correctly.
    • Ensures that exception list is kept up to date.
    • Coordinates proper staging/loading, and inspection of all inbound and outbound loads.
    • Develop a skilled understanding of ERP as well as bill of materials.
    • Able to coordinate with key departments to ensure production, receiving and shipping goals are met.
    • Assist training staff with the ability to fairly and accurately monitor their performance and progress
    • Responsible for effective and timely communication, verbally and in writing.
    • Responsible to train successor during normal absence (VTO, PTO, Flex days)
    • Must maintain confidentiality of all proprietary information, as well as other Company data, including personnel information.
    • Has strong conflict management skills and works to develop teamwork and open Communication.
    • Provides harmonious and stable work environment. Able to work with all levels of management and departments.
    • Must be able to maintain all Mastronardi Pride values. Respect fellow workers and abides by company policy and procedures.
    • Oversee box machine operators.
    • Approve payroll, time off requests, and ensure there is coverage on vacation days.
    • Cycle counts weekly and ensure accuracy of inventory
    • Order materials weekly to ensure there is no shortage of materials for production or the warehouse.

    Facility Purchases:

    • Packaging Materials - Liaison between Production/Operations and Buyer
    • Non Packaging Materials – Purchase, & Maintain minimums and maximums of inventory (Just in Time)
    • Non Packaging Material Suppliers will be sourced and qualified by the Purchasing Dept.’s product development and buyer.
    • No Supplier Solicitation to take place unless authorized by the Director of Purchasing

    Position Requirements:

    • Must pass Drug Test and Background Check
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Ability to understand the basics of Packaging machinery.
    • Must have previous manager/supervisor experience
    • Proficiency in use of English language with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally, verbally and through email.
    • Ability to properly manage time, equipment and people.
    • Proficient in computer-use skills (MS Office: ERP, Famous, Word, Excel and Visio)
    • Willingness to work independently, with minimal supervision and take ownership of job

    Working Conditions:

    • Environment includes an expansive refrigerated warehouse, where the temperature averages 50 °F
    • The background noise approaches 70 dcbs
    • Position requires sitting, standing, walking and bending and be able to lift up to 30 lbs on a regular basis
    • Visual and audio sensory are needed regularly
    • Must have manual dexterity to perform day to day operational needs and operate computer
