Product Development Director plans and directs the resources and processes required to implement the vision and strategy for new product development and product lifecycle management of existing products. Establishes research and concept development projects and capabilities to innovate new products, product enhancements, and product redesign. Being a Product Development Director conducts market analysis and interacts with customers and prospects to identify new markets, articulate the value proposition, define requirements, and lead the development of a product roadmap. Oversees new product development and collaboration with internal stakeholders, including marketing, sales, and manufacturing, to ensure that new and existing products support the organization's financial goals. Additionally, Product Development Director develops teams with the knowledge and expertise to fulfill product development objectives. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Product Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Product Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Product Development Specialist

    Location : This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of an Elevance Health PulsePoint location.

    Hybrid Workplace Strategy : 1-2 days in office per week

    The Product Development Specialist is responsible for gathering and evaluating new product ideas in the context of potential, practicality, strategic planning, and implications for other products.

    Primary duties may include, but are not limited to :

    • Investigates market opportunities and effect on market for present products.
    • Evaluates ideas and suggestions for new products and major enhancements to existing products.
    • Prepares requirements defining product scope, features, functionality, and output.
    • Determines criteria used in screening product ideas and prepares complete proposals for management action.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product, Data Governance to gather and evaluate new product ideas in the healthcare data platform domain.
    • Serve as a liaison to ensure seamless integration of Business requirements with product development.
    • Generate and refine ideas for existing products and significant enhancements to existing healthcare data platform solutions.
    • Understand and define customer needs and transform them into workable capabilities to implement them in the new project while following Agile SAFe, Scrum and SDLC framework and Healthcare best practices.
    • Create detailed product requirements that outline product scope, features, functionality, and desired outputs.
    • Lead and coordinate with Product, Engineering and Business ensuring that projects remain on time and within budget.

    Minimum Requirements :

    Requires a BA / BS degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

    Preferred Skills & Abilities :

    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to convert complex concepts into actionable product plans.
    • Exceptional leadership qualities with experience leading product development teams.
    • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Proficient in leading Agile ceremonies, including Program Increment planning, Sprint planning, Feature Refinement, and conducting Daily Scrum meetings.
    • Master’s degree in a related field or an MBA.
    • Experience in Agile product development methodologies.
    • Previous experience working with healthcare compliance and regulatory standards.
