PRODUCTION CLERK – CURED & SMOKED MEATS - AUSTIN OFFICE - AUSTIN PLANT
This position reports to Production Manager Cured & Smoked Meats.
The work schedule for this position is Monday–Friday, vary start time from 3:30 a.m. to 5:45am and ending time vary from 12:45pm 3:45 p.m. depending on coverage need. Overtime is probable. No flexible time.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The person in this position:
- Ability to withstand a variety of temperature changes and identify a variety of different products
- Be able to learn and show knowledge of multiple departments (Fabrication Scale, Ham Boning Scale, and the IEs clerks)
- Able to maintain inventories of products and supplies, and able to complete orders upon requests
- Able to learn and know multiple systems. Incubent is to learn and know multiple PC and floor scale operations/applications.
- Ability Develops and maintains several spreadsheets.
- Required to assist in training new production clerks as directed (IE, Ham Bone/Fabrication scales)
- Enters OMT delays for the department
- Prepares daily packet and order carboard and day cards as needed for Ham Pack, Ham Bone, and Fabrication Scale
- Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor including vacation and break coverages (IE, Hambone/Fabrication Scales)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
- High school education or equivalent.
- Demonstrated proficiency with a PC, Windows, MS Excel and MS Word.
- Ability to learn other computer applications.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately work with numbers and attention to detail required.
- Ability to review daily productivity reports for accuracy and work with supervision to identify and correct errors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, ability to prioritize work, and ability to work independently.
- Must be able to work on your feet and tolerate working in a 40° environment.
Preferred
- Experience with AS/400, Shop Floor Data Collection System (SFDC), and Datastream 7i systems.
- Ability to enter data at the rate of 6,000 kph.
