Production Control Clerk performs clerical tasks that support production control and ensure the efficient flow of materials required by production schedules. Monitors the inventory of parts, components, and raw materials and coordinates ordering, invoicing, and scheduling with vendors. Being a Production Control Clerk tracks status of customer orders and production schedules to identify issues or delays and coordinates with stakeholders to expedite orders and resolve problems. Inputs and maintains production data in ERP, MRP, or other databases. Additionally, Production Control Clerk requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager. The Production Control Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Duties and Responsibilities The following duties are typical of those performed by employees in this job title; however, employees may perform other related duties, and each employee in the job title necessarily performs not all duties listed:
· Verify accuracy of shipments against purchase orders and other documents
· Receive, process, check, measure and unload material; place correct labels on bundles with work order numbers
· Examine material for deterioration and defects, and reports findings
· Prepare forms and maintain records dealing with discrepancies and damaged items; process RMA paperwork
· Input material in computer system and assign a location
· Organize return rack, place quality, and damaged materials in predetermined location
· Sort scrap metal and prepare shipments for return to mills
· Ensure receiving and packing lists are faxed to purchasing on a daily basis
· Schedule shuttle truck deliveries to corporate office
· Keep warehouse and work area organized at all times
· Assist in counting of physical inventory
· Maintain and file safety records, truck maintenance, insurance records, and manifests
· Answer telephones, take messages, and provide general information
· Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs
Qualifications
· High School diploma or equivalent
· Ability to organize, plan and prioritize duties; detailed oriented
· Certified Raymond Operator
· Basic math skills
· Read tape measure
· Lift and carry heavy material up to 75 lbs.; climb, crawl, and stoop to reach material; bend at the waist, kneel or crouch for extended periods of time; reach overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
