    The Production Manager oversees company product manufacturing and/or packaging functions. Responsible for the management and development of staff and for maximizing production efficiency, quality, and safety. The Production Manager executes and organizes planned production runs assuring maximum productivity for labor usage, material usage and minimal scrap. The Production Manager maintains current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) throughout the facility and oversees workflows and scheduling to achieve production standards and achieve desired product output and quality.

    Estimated starting annual base salary is $123,163.57 - 184,745.35  less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis. Please note that the actual compensation offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined by the Company, which may include, but is not limited to, location, experience, qualifications, education, skillset, and market conditions. The target base compensation for this role is in the low to middle of the range, with the top of the range reserved for only exceptional circumstances. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary, variable annual incentive, paid based on Company performance factors.     Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop, implement, and maintain production standards in all manufacturing areas.
    • Work with production scheduling, quality, inventory management and sales to ensure products are produced to cGMP, quality, and customer standards.
    • Ensure proper use of equipment and materials at all times.
    • Coordinate with maintenance, sanitation, quality control and safety for preventative maintenance, repairs, employee training and operating procedures.
    • Ensure department achieves financial goals in both variable labor and yield performance against the budget.
    • Maintain customer service level and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) standards.
    • Continuously improve quality and sanitation practices in the production areas.
    • Coordinate with the other departments to ensure sufficient product resources and information to meet production needs.
    • Manage schedule attainment, report attainment daily and report efficiency/productivity.
    • Effectively communicate production priorities, quality standards and company policies, including enforcement.
    • Develop, implement, and enhance production policies, procedures, trainings, and related initiatives.
    • Maintain and execute continuous improvement projects that improve safety, quality, and productivity.
    • Travel as needed (up to 10%) including networking at other sites and/or attending company events.

     

    People Leader Responsibilities

    The position carries out People Leader Responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include:

    • Hire, coach, train, and develop production staff.
    • Direct and indirect supervision of staff to include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding, and administering corrective actions; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
    • Provide 360-degree feedback, as requested, for leaders, peers, and subordinate team members.
    • Organize training and development opportunities for direct reports.

     

    Required Qualifications

    Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, business, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 7 years’ experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
    • 4 years’ progressive leadership, supervisory, and/or management experience.
    • Experience with product manufacturing or high-speed packaging equipment.

     

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
    • Strong organization, prioritization, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
    • Understanding of cGMP standards and federal/state regulations relative to the food industry and general manufacturing.
    • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
    • Must have the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with internal staff and management. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
    • Must be able to demonstrate practical problem solving and trouble shooting skills. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

     

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Six Sigma/Lean certification.
    • Nutraceutical industry experience.
