We are looking for a purchasing agent and inventory control person that will have about 10 hours a week of purchasing, and 30 hours a week handling a variety of issues around the shop, from organizing vehicle and equipment maintenance , to tidying up the shop, to organizing shelves, shipping and receiving, running parts to the field, and other warehouse and field related tasks. It is not strictly a purchasing role. We may have you even climb turbines and help out crews if someone calls in sick.

"WMC" is an Operations, Management, Service & Repair company maintaining two wind energy power plants in the Palm Springs area. No travel required. Please note it is a tough job working in the wind industry. With 120° summers, the warehouse too can get pretty warm in the summer.

JOB DESCRIPTION (detailed list of activities you will likely perform)

We are looking for a long term, career orientated person. MUST speak fluent English for safety reasons.

Organizing inventory, interacting with vendors and account reps, researching hard to find parts, prepping the truck(s) for the day's jobs, production and handling of paperwork in the form of inventory control related requests, work orders, purchase orders etc.

​Working with a computerized inventory system called Inflow.

Some days you might find yourself in the shop rebuilding parts for other crews. It will be a constant mix to keep the job interesting as well as working with different crews periodically. This also helps with our cross training on other turbine technologies, so you understand our entire range of wind turbines.

Other misc. roles will always crop up; everyone should be willing to help out with anything at WMC.

We want someone who understands:

​​ You will be purchasing power plant related equipment and you need to have some type of background in heavy Industrial electrical mechanical work.

REQUIREMENTS
O High school graduate or GED

O Requires a good working knowledge of computers

O Must have excellent personal & interpersonal skills to interact with a variety of personalities (meaning our unique and talented team members)

O Ability to lift 150 lbs a very short distance (up to 10 ft)

O Must have a valid driver's; DMV report & company paid drug test will be required

O Must pass a supervised climb test to determine if a fear of heights exists

HOURS & BENEFITS
Job entails a 40 Hr week, some Overtime required. Some weekend & holiday shifts required. Monthly ~$470 contribution towards Medical benefits are available for the employee for Medical, Dental, & Vision. Outside of the three main benefits, there are also a wide variety of supplemental insurance benefits available (accident, cancer, stroke, term life, whole life), prepaid legal, identity theft & other such benefits like a non-matching 401K plan.
