Production Painter operates a spray painter or other equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on metals or products. Mixes paints and other solutions and monitors drying to ensure desired results. Being a Production Painter completes finishing with baking, polishing or other materials. Follows all required safety procedures. Additionally, Production Painter may paint items by hand as needed. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to supervisor/manager. May require an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. The Production Painter possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Duties:
- Prepare surfaces by scraping, sanding, and filling holes or cracks
- Mix and match paint colors to achieve desired shades
- Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or sprayers
- Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape to protect surrounding areas
- Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment
- Follow safety guidelines and use protective gear when necessary
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure project deadlines are met
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Painter or similar role
- Solid knowledge of painting techniques and tools
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret specifications
- Familiarity with building materials and their properties
- Strong attention to detail and precision
- Excellent color vision and understanding of color theory
- Basic carpentry skills for minor repairs or preparation work
- Experience with airless paint spraying is a plus
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
