ABOUT US:
The Child Crisis Center of El Paso (CCCEP) is a local community non-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in El Paso, Texas. The emergency shelter is not federally funded and we rely on community donations. The children that come through our emergency shelter have usually experienced an event that no child should have to endure, so we make sure their stay is as pleasant as possible by providing them with the necessary services. It is a safe haven where a child can be a child again and not worry about being, hurt, hungry, homeless, or alone.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Accounting Clerk is responsible for entering and maintaining the center's financial transactions in accounting systems and assisting in clerical functions for the center.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
-Post accounts payable transactions; reconciles supplier statements, invoices, and purchase orders; prepares checks for payment; posts to appropriate financial ledgers
-Prepares monthly billing reports for Grants and Contracts
-Makes bank deposits
-Assist in collecting audit and monitoring information as requested by Supervisor, Accountant and/or auditor
-Maintain various statistical and miscellaneous financial reports such as inventory, allocation tables, and various accruals
-Will be back up to Administrative Assistant
-Assist other administrative staff with reports and/or support, as needed, to include fundraising and special events during non-office hours
-Will participate in cross training in all accounting functions
-Will prepare and process payroll
-Will serve as backup for the Accountant
-Will assist with other delegated duties by Accountant
-Perform all other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-Minimum 2 yrs college or technical school course work in bookkeeping/accounting and/or a combination of 3 years experience
-Must be familiar with QuickBooks
-Previous experience as an Accounting Clerk or similar role
-Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
-Familiarity with balance sheet reconciliation and financial reporting
-Excellent organizational and time management skills
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
-Knowledge of payroll processing
