- Purpose/role of the position within the University: Providing a research opportunity to an undergraduate student interested in prebiotic chemistry. The opportunity provides training in modern chemistry techniques, which enhances their marketable skills after graduation.
- Duties and responsibilities associated with the position and how they relate to the purpose/role: Conduct chemistry experiments and evaluate data related to these experiments, analyze data using MNOVA software, conduct NMR experiments, maintain lab notebook, comply with lab safety guidelines, communicate results in research articles and/or presentations, and attend laboratory meetings to gain experience that is valued on the science job market.
Required Qualifications
General qualifications for the position: Must be a current UNF student who qualifies for and accepts FWS funding. Must have faculty approval. Must be able to complete necessary tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of general chemistry coursework and lab sequence.
Rate of pay is determined by FWS and will reflect the student’s year of school.
The length of the student’s employment: FWS approved dates. First day of work for Spring 2024
you can start January 18, 2024. Last day of work for Spring 2024 is April 26, 2024.
