Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Communication typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. Structured Cable Technician

    Structured Cable Technician:

    • Installation and testing of projects including but not limited to access control, intrusion and detection systems, video surveillance, mass notification, distributed annotation systems (DAS), Structured Cable, Paging, CATV and Fiber optics.

    Reporting Relationship:

    • Report Directly to Project Managers

    Authority:

    • Make on site decisions that correspond with Communication Innovators policies and procedures

    Requirements:

    • Technical domain knowledge sufficient to perform responsibilities, satisfy

    performance measurements and ensure credibility with external stakeholders

    • Have a valid driver license
    • Ability to problem solve and work with hands.
    • Ability to travel on short notice

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to climb a 6 or 8 foot ladder
    • Able to lift 55Lbs
    • Work on your feet for a minimum of 8 hours
    • Able bend, stoop or crouch
    • Able to climb stairs

    Responsibilities:

    • Analyze blueprints and other documentation needed to execute project on time and under budget
    • Prepare/install cable pathways and supports
    • Running new cabling in new or existing buildings
    • Termination and testing of new and existing cables: Cat5e, Cat6 and 10gig
    • Set up telecommunication frames including racks, cabinets and wall mount racks
    • Operate test equipment, including tones, twisted pair checkers butt set and cable scanners (Fluke DTX1800)
    • Able to adapt to change in scope of work, work hours, project size and travel
    • Be able to install, terminate, test and commission a wide range of products, including but not limited to voice and data cabling, paging systems, camera systems, security systems, and audio visual systems
    • Ability to manage different personalities as it applies to the job

    • Adherence to Time sheet and expense report policies
    • Minimum customer satisfaction rating to be determined
    • Installation quality and performance
    • Get along with coworkers and management
    • Attendance and punctuality

    Job Type: Full-time

    Salary: From $20.00 per hour
