    Position Overview: We’re hiring for a Computer Network Support Specialist to work in Artesia, N.M.  In this position you’ll become part of technically diverse team to include but not limited to Help Desk Specialists, Network Engineers, and System Administrators.  Together this team provides IT Operations and Support to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) which is responsible for training Law Enforcement Professionals from over 90 different agencies. 


    Position Responsibilities:

    • Perform implementation, and maintenance tasks on the networking environment.
    • Assist with peer reviews on networking maintenances, projects, and initiatives.
    • Identify and review security postures to peers and appropriate security teams.
    • Assist with Troubleshooting and resolve complex network problems.
    • Install hardware such as routers, firewalls, wireless, and switches.
    • Maintain all IT property management and accountability IAW the performance work statement and standard operating procedures.
    • Maintain records and manage the lifecycle replacement for all EITSS hardware in Artesia IAW the performance work statement and standard operating procedures.
    • Perform any hands-on requirements for IT network equipment that cannot be handled remotely by the network engineers
    • Installing, troubleshooting, and cabling of network switches, routers, WAPS
    • Maintain all Network IT property management and accountability IAW the performance work statement and standard operating procedures.

    Requirements

    • 3 years of relevant work experience 
    • Experience with Network OR Field Engineer duties
    • Hands on experience with switches and server
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical abilities
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills using the English language
    • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
    • Prefer candidates with a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on Information Technology 

    Security Qualifications:

    • No security clearance required; Secret Clearance Preferred
    • Must be a US Citizen
    • Must pass a Federal Law Enforcement Background Investigation
