Professor - Computer Science teaches courses in the discipline area of computer and information sciences. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Computer Science provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Computer Science typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. Level 1 Desktop Support Technician

  • Custom Computer Specialists is looking for an Level 1 Desktop Support Technician to join our team!  This person is responsible for providing first-level support for all incoming help desk calls via phone and email as well as providing desk-side support in a K-12 education environment.

    This position is based in East Lyme, Connecticut.

    This position pays between $40,000-$49,000 annually. Pay will be based on experience

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Handles all incoming calls to the help desk via phone, email & walk-in
    • Monitor and follow up calls in help desk queue
    • Provide support for hardware/software issues over the phone and in person
    • Follow up to closed tickets to ensure customer satisfaction
    • Support and deploy various Operating Systems (Windows, Mac, Chromebook)
    • Provide resolution and assistance to standard supported applications: MS Office, Browser programs, Antivirus and other supported proprietary applications and systems
    • Document and escalate call tickets to related IT groups for further support

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Organization and time management skills
    • 1-2 years’ experience in hardware and software support
    • CompTIA A / CompTIA Network or equivalent experience preferred.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Server and Active Directory
    • Experience with TCP/IP based networks
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems: Windows 7 & 10
    • Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
    • Knowledgeable on software installations
    • Knowledge of the Internet, Microsoft Office, and G-Suite
