Professor - Computer Science teaches courses in the discipline area of computer and information sciences. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Computer Science provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Computer Science typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     Job Summary
    The Department of Information Technologies seeks a full-time faculty member to teach and support our computer science program, which includes our Data Science option. All faculty positions have as their primary objective to create a dynamic teaching/learning environment for our students, while contributing service to the college. Faculty responsibilities include teaching assigned courses and following the course description and course outline established by the department. Teaching schedules may include instructional development, academic advisement, support of college activities, service to other committees and professional development.
    In this role, you will
    • Prepare and teach courses in our Computer Science program, including the Data Science option.
    • Advise students to support their learning and growth in the program.
    • Create a positive, professional, and inclusive learning environment and culture for our students.
    • Support curriculum efforts as instructed by the chairperson.
    • Prepare and teach courses in varies modalities, online, remote, hybrid, or in person.

    Qualifications - Education
    Minimum of MS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or closely related degree. Candidates should possess a strong insight into computer science and related activities. Prior teaching and/or training experience preferred.

    Qualifications - Experience
    Successful college teaching experience is required; evidence of scholarly and/or professional activities is desired. Preferred experience includes teaching using an online learning system, experience developing curriculum, and experience developing curriculum in an online learning system. Preference will be given to individuals with expertise to teach across the multiple disciplines in the department.

    The County College of Morris seeks a dynamic and highly qualified professional to join the faculty in the Department of Information Technologies, which is home to degrees in Game Development, Computer Science, Computer Science: Data Science option, Information Technology and Digital Media Technology. The successful candidate will deliver lectures and prepare hands-on laboratory assignments for department curriculum. Preference will be given to individuals with expertise to teach across the multiple disciplines in the department.

    Qualifications - Skills
    The successful candidate has demonstrated expertise, as determined by previous work experience, with multiple content creation and editing platforms, programming languages including Python, Java, and assembly language. Additionally, the ability to prepare and teach lessons in Windows and MAC OS environments is desired.
    The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of students, have strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated commitment to maintaining current technology skills and knowledge of the role and mission of a community college.
