Professor - Drama teaches courses in the discipline area of drama and theater arts. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Drama provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Drama typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     College of the Sequoias Community College District accepts applications for part-time adjunct faculty pools to teach Drama within its Fine Arts Department continuously.  Screening committees will conduct the screening of candidates. Meeting the minimum qualifications for a position does not assure the applicant of an interview. If the department does not have an immediate need to add candidates to their pool, applications remain in the queue for consideration until the need arises, or for one year in active status.

    PART-TIME ADJUNCT POOLS   

    Part-Time Adjunct Faculty assignments may include weekend and/or evening classes at the Visalia Campus, the Hanford Educational Center, or the Tulare College Center. 

    If you submit a duplicate application, only your most recent will remain active for one year. 

    Part-Time Adjunct faculty positions are temporary positions and do not accrue rights to tenure.

    Under the general direction of a dean or director, adjunct faculty will provide comprehensive  classroom instruction to community college students. Adjunct faculty will also be expected to collect and submit data on student learning objectives as needed.

    The minimum qualifications for all disciplines may be found within the “Minimum Qualifications for Faculty and Administrators in California Community Colleges”
