Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Economics provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Economics typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant, as well as market conditions. In addition to wages, CBU offers a robust suite of employee benefits.
    Qualifications
    The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. (or be ABD) in economics or a related discipline. Candidates must demonstrate successful teaching experience and have potential as a scholar. She or he will join a growth-oriented faculty and will be expected to maintain active scholarly work as well as help develop and offer academic and co-curricular activities for our growing business administration programs.
    Teaching Responsibilities
    The appointment may include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in economics, statistics, quantitative analysis, and business analytics.
