The Economics Area of the Orfalea College of Business at Cal Poly seeks applicants for a full-time academic-year lecturer position to teach Economics courses to meet the needs of the Economics Area.  Expected teaching assignments may include Principles of Economics, Intermediate Microeconomics or Macroeconomics, and/or Introductory Econometrics as well as other electives to be determined based on the interests and qualifications of the applicant. Other responsibilities include advising and service to the area, college, and university. Applicants should be committed to excellence in teaching.  Applicants must be academically qualified under AACSB standards. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

A Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Economics or related discipline from an accredited institution. Must provide evidence of exceptional teaching. Applicants are expected to demonstrate and maintain currency in their field.  Demonstrated experience and commitment to student-centered learning and teaching, as well as the ability to collaboratively work in multidisciplinary settings is required. Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants with a Ph.D. in Economics or related disciplines. Preference will also be given to those with experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment.

The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
