Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     POSITION SUMMARY


      

    Benedictine College invites applications from mechanical engineers to apply for a full-time position in the rapidly growing School of Engineering. This tenure-track position at Assistant or Associate Professor rank starts in August 2024.

    The Benedictine College School of Engineering has recently completed a $25MM expansion and renovation of its engineering building, which provides state-of-the art facilities. The School of Engineering is growing rapidly and currently has 260 students, 13 faculty members, and 2 staff. It offers ABET-accredited degrees in chemical, civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering. 



    Requirements

     ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Responsibilities include teaching four classes per semester and engage in appropriate faculty service. 


     POSITION QUALIFICATIONS


    The successful candidate should hold a M.S. or Ph.D. in mechanical engineering. He or she must be willing to teach a variety of mechanical engineering courses and laboratories as well as some general engineering classes. The candidate will be expected to contribute substantially to the development of the BC School of Engineering. Moreover, he or she is expected to exemplify the integration of the Catholic Faith with the engineering profession. Teaching and industrial experience are desirable.
