Ricardo Lopez Law P.C. (www.ricardolopezlaw.com) is an employment law firm that represents plaintiffs in a wide range of employment issues, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage and hour matters. We are seeking a motivated law clerk to join our firm for the summer (May-August 2023). You will have the opportunity to learn about employment law and have hands-on experience, including attending hearings, depositions, and direct communications with clients. The position is generally remote; however, we will meet a couple of times throughout the month to discuss case strategy.

Job duties include:

• Assisting the managing attorney with trial prep
• Legal writing and research
• Drafting correspondence
• Responding to and propounding discovery
• Drafting notices and objections
• Interacting with clients

Preferred qualifications:

• Rising 3L
• Employment Law experience
• Strong legal research and analysis
• General knowledge of California Civil Procedure
• Experience drafting and responding to discovery
• Legal writing experience
• Spanish speaking abilities

Required qualifications:

• Law School Student and/or Recent Law School Graduate
• Well organized and detail-oriented
• High emotional intelligence and a positive attitude
• Reliable and punctual
