    The Wound Care Grafting Coordinator directs, organizes, and develops all wound care grafting services in accordance with applicable federal, state, regulatory, and company standards to ensure the delivery of quality patient care is rendered at all times, and that the Plan of Care and physician orders are followed with regard to wound care treatments. This position functions independently, demonstrates superior communication skills, personal integrity, and works effectively with patients, family members, physicians, staff, and outside agencies as required. The position leads hospital wound education efforts, as well as educates patients and family members on wounds and wound care topics. While this position does not specifically supervise clinical staff, as the leader of the wound care program this person does coordinate and direct clinical team on wound care grafts on a daily basis. This position requires continuous updating and tracking of patient status, graft utilization, distribution, billing, ordering in the delivery of wound care. The Wound Care Coordinator assists with patient recruitment, retention, and ensuring all information is ready for billing.

    Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

    · Maintains confidentiality of patient information.

    · Maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records in accordance with the regulations of Medicare and the policy and procedure manual.

    · Communicates effectively on the telephone with patients, families, and staff.

    ·_ Ensures that billing and patient accounts record systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and in compliance with state, federal and regulations._

    ·_ Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of payer contracts building a database of reimbursement knowledge._

    ·_ Monitors aged accounts receivables and directs resubmission of bills to overdue accounts._

    ·_ Gathers, collates, and reports key billing information for the leadership team._

    ·_ Weekly successfully reconciles the inventory and billing system reports._

    ·_ Supervises the use of the billing information system and maintains a comprehensive working knowledge of the system including upgrades and enhancements._

    ·_ Supervises and reconciles EOBS and billing according to policy._

    ·_ Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with clinicians, patients, payers, and referral sources._

    ·_ Protects the confidentiality of patient and organization information through effective controls and direct supervision of billing operations._

    ·_ Recruits, selects, orients, and manages members of the wound care team._

    ·_ Maintains inventory and distribution of grafts with precision; including but not limited to tracking graft:clinician:patient_

    ·_ Audits clinician notes to maintain data as required for billing in accordance with state and federal guidlines_

    Position Qualifications

    · A minimum of high school education; preferably with healthcare and computer background.

    · Associate degree in Business Administration or Healthcare. Bachelor's degree preferred.

    · At least three (3) years’ experience in health care billing and collections management, preferably in-wound care operations.

    · Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct personnel.

    · Knowledge of corporate business management, governmental regulations and standards.

    · Demonstrates great attention to detail, good communication, and problem solving skills.

    · General knowledge of spelling, punctuation, grammar, medical records and office procedures.

    · Basic knowledge of office machines.

    · Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

    · Ability to meet the public and staff as a positive, friendly, and professional representative of the agency.

    · Effective social interaction, communication, and organizational skills and the ability to perform a variety of tasks efficiently.

    The position requires working in our office 9:00-5:30 Monday-Friday.

    Pay: $18.00 - $25.56 per hour
