Professor - Music teaches courses in the discipline area of music. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Music provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Music typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. Scottsdale Music Academy is hiring for Guitar, Voice, and Piano music instructors position for private lessons. Formal education not mandatory. Multi instrumentalist a huge plus. Music instructor minimum requirement of 2-5 years of private lesson teaching experience. As a Scottsdale Music Academy music instructor must be able to teach all ages and versed in all popular styles of music.
- Ability to interact effectively with children and adults
- Experience working with youth and or/beginning musicians
- Must demonstrate an understanding of music concepts, have strong aural skills, and practical techniques as it relates to the instrument. Must be able to communicate those concepts effectively to students
- Effective time management and organizational skills to keep students on task in a lesson
- Comfortable working with a variety of personalities
- Planning to remain in the area long-term
- Ability to pass a background check
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
Teaching Private Music Lessons: 2 years (Required)
