Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     ABOUT THIS POSITION

    Summary: The Visiting Instructor of Physics is responsible for teaching lower division physics and/or astronomy courses for science and liberal arts majors. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester.

    Required Qualifications:
    • M.S. in physics or a closely related discipline by Summer 2023.
    • Effectiveness in teaching and creating a positive learning environment.
    • Enthusiasm for working with and inspiring undergraduate students.
    • Ability to communicate and work collaboratively and collegially with colleagues.

      Preferred Qualifications:
    • Enthusiasm for teaching all introductory physics and astronomy classes.
