Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Rehabilitation provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Rehabilitation typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. The Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC) is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals who desire a rewarding career making a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities to obtain and maintain employment. The Qualified Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor I will coordinate vocational rehabilitation services from intake through plan development and placement as mandated by federal statutes and guidelines. The ideal candidate will administer functional skills analysis, review, and analyze assessment tests, interview, and conduct observations, develop plans, partner with service providers, and provide access to successful job placement.

Minimum Entrance Requirements:
Applicants must have a (A) Bachelor's degree or higher in Psychology, Sociology, Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Education, or other related human services degrees and (B) four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in vocational counselling, job placement, career counselling and guidance, assessment and and vocational evaluation, job development and services for employers. Relevant internship experience may be considered for the (B) required experience.
Based on assignment, travel is required; incumbents who elect to use a motor vehicle for travel must have a current and valid motor vehicle driver's license at a class level specific to assignment.
Substitutions:
I. A Master's degree or higher in Rehabilitation Counselling or other related human services field may be substituted for the (B) required experience.
II. Twenty (20) credits towards a Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counselling or other related human services field may be substituted for one (1) year of the (B) required experience.
III. Fourty (40) credits towards a Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counselling or other related human services field may be substituted for two (2) years of the (B) required experience.
