Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Sociology provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Sociology typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     The Akron Campus is seeking a Full Time Nursing Associate Professor.

    Job Description

    • Provide 18 to 21 instructional contact hours per week in the Akron Nursing Program (classroom and clinical).
    • Participate in campus-wide initiatives in support of recruitment, retention, and graduation goals.
    • Maintain a current knowledge of teaching discipline/field of study.
    • Participate in curriculum monitoring and development process.
    • Attend required college functions including staff meetings, in-service training, and special activities.

    Job Requirements         

    • Possess a Bachelors Degree in Nursing
    • Possess a Masters Degree for ADN positions
    • Valid Nursing License
    • Teaching experience preferred
    • Exceptional organization and communication skills are required.
