Niagara County Community College has a need for part-time instructors to teach introductory courses in Sociology in the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences Division.

These classes are typically in-person (face-to-face) three lecture hours per week during days and/or evenings at the main Sanborn, NY, campus or at the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute in Niagara Falls, NY. They can also be face-to-face enhanced with a Zoom option, asynchronous online, blended synchronous on Zoom, hyflex (face-to-face, synchronous Zoom, and asynchronous online), and hybrid (in-person and online).

Applicants must be able to attend in-person meetings, professional development, and other obligations on the Sanborn campus even if teaching online or at NFCI.

Remuneration for persons teaching at least 3 credits in a semester: $854 per lecture hour/$765 per lab hour.

Ability to work with and teach a diverse student population. Ability to speak in front of groups of people. Must be able to communicate effectively with students, co-workers, supervisors, and the campus community. Must be able to develop, prepare, and present information. Must able to operate computers. Must be able to physically perform the duties of the position and must adjust any teaching to the Americans with Disabilities Act provisions.

Master’s degree in Sociology or related field. Excellent written communication skills as demonstrated by application materials.

Established in 1962, NCCC offers a comprehensive and vibrant learning environment with an enrollment of approximately 3,090 students (Fall 2021 semester). The student to faculty ratio is 12:1, providing a high degree of personalized attention for students.

The NCCC campus, located in Sanborn, NY, offers easy access to both Buffalo, NY, and Niagara Falls State Park, and is minutes from the Canadian border.
