LSS has an opportunity to work for an emerging program that is impacting the lives of older adults in rural South Dakota. We are seeking an innovative individual to join us as our Older Adult Resource Network Coordinator.
HOURS: Full-time, primarily Monday through Friday. Daytime hours with evening and weekend hours scheduled as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES: LSS is seeking one full-time professional who loves rural South Dakota and the people who make a community. We are looking to hire a Program Coordinator who will work from home based in Bon Homme, Hutchinson, Douglas, or Charles Mix counties. This position would serve as the Older Adult Resource Network Coordinator. The program is currently in operation in Douglas and Charles Mix counties and will be expanding into Bon Homme and Hutchinson counties. Primary responsibilities include facilitating a network of community stakeholders to discuss issues related to older adults; networking with/educating communities in the region to promote the program; meeting with older adults to complete screenings and refer to needed programs; tracking inquiries, referrals and utilization of services; planning and coordination of educational events for older adults; ensuring older adults in their region feel healthy, safe and accepted.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree preferred, plus one to two years’ experience in related human service field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful applicants must live in or have a strong connection to the region where the program delivers services. Must have a desire to preserve rural living and ability to network and problem solve to ensure older adults are able to access services needed to age in place. Must be able to successfully plan and lead community meetings. Must be comfortable with older adults and able to conduct home visits to complete screenings and process referrals.
Must successfully complete all agency background checks. Requires valid driver’s license and ability to obtain approved driver status.
