Program Manager coordinates and monitors the scheduling, pricing, and technical performance of company programs. Negotiates and prepares contracts by considering the financial conditions, resources, and contractual requirements. Being a Program Manager develops new business and expands product line. Ensures adherence to master plans and schedules, develops solutions to program problems, and directs work of incumbents assigned to program from various departments. Additionally, Program Manager ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Acts as advisor to program team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Prepares proposals to win new programs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a department head. The Program Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. To be a Program Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Aquatics Program Manager

  • SUMMARY: Responsible for overall management, promotion and evaluation of the Aquatics, programs and memberships at EmBe. This includes enhancement of existing programs as well as development and implementation of new programs. Responsible for budgeting and planning activities. Provide direction to aquatics staff. Manage pool rentals and contracts with external customers.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Ensure EmBe brand, mission, vision, and values are reflected in all interactions.
    • Interview, hire, and train staff as needed.
    • Actively embrace a culture of empowerment and an attitude of honesty and mutual respect. Maintain professionalism, take responsibility for actions and mentor positive behaviors to both coworkers and external contacts.
    • Assist in preparation of annual budget; monitor budget progress during the year.
    • Represent EmBe and its programs at appropriate community, public, or professional functions.
    • Provide direction to staff including Aquatics, and front desk staff.
    • Conduct annual performance appraisals; provide coaching and performance management

    Aquatics and Red Cross Training

    • Evaluate and understand community needs for new program development.
    • Serve on the program committee of the Board of Directors on an ex-officio basis.
    • Work with other staff as needed to develop programs and services.
    • Provide supervision, leadership and direction to Aquatics, and Front Desk staff.
    • Lead and direct a variety of programming and classes; including but not limited to Swimming lessons and fitness classes; First Aid/CPR and Lifeguard Training.
    • Create and coordinate scheduling of aquatics staff including lifeguards and instructors.
    • Coordinate and oversee general maintenance, repair and upkeep of pool andwhirlpool by working directly with the Facilities Manager in scheduling maintenance and/or improvements.
    • Manage pool schedule; coordinate pool rentals and contracts with external customers.
    • Coordinate front desk staffing and schedule to ensure excellent customer service to EmBe members and customers.
    • Research and develop new Aquatics and membership programs. Expand, enhance, and grow existing programs.
    • Coordinate EmBe Avera membership activities including tours, renewals and promotional materials.
    • Maintain participation records and perform monthly statistical reporting as required.
    • Evaluate and understand community needs for new program development.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Previous teaching and/or coaching experience beneficial.
    • Strong background in aquatics, WSI, Lifeguard training and Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED.
    • Current Lifeguard Training and Water Safety Instructor certifications preferred. Required to obtain within first 90 days of hire
    • Lifeguard Training Instructors certificate beneficial.
    • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
