Summary
The Project Accountant is responsible for coordinating and administering billings and subcontractor payables for assigned divisions and projects within the company from project award to close.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Process customer billings and collections and subcontractor invoices and payments for assigned projects.
· Administer change orders, back charges, and claims.
· Act as a liaison between owners, subcontractors, project management, and corporate office management.
· Manage notices filed by and under each subcontractor and obtain lien releases as required.
· Maintain client and subcontractor information in accounting.
· Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements and Skills:
· Proven working experience as a Project Accountant.
· Ability to follow specific and strict deadlines.
· Understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.
· Data entry skills, including a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
· Basic understanding and use of Microsoft Excel.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma required, business or accounting degree preferred.
· Project accounting experience in the construction or related industry preferred.
