We are currently looking for a Project Accountant to improve our efficiencies and aid in the company’s growth.
As a Project Accountant you will play a critical role in managing the financial aspects of various engineering projects. You will collaborate closely with the project managers, engineers and other stake holders to ensure accurate financial reporting, budget management, and compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
What Winning Looks Like:
· Provide regular updates on project financial performance to project managers and senior management.
· Identify variances between budgeted and actual costs and recommend corrective actions as needed.
· Work closely with project managers to review project status, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
· Monitor project expenses and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
· Prepare accurate and timely invoices for clients based on project milestones and deliverables.
· Coordinate with project managers to ensure all billable hours and expenses are properly documented and invoiced.
· Address client inquiries regarding billing and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
· Review billing backlog and coordinate communication with teams to resolve obstacles.
· Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
· Prepare, report and perform analysis of project costs. Provide this information to the project team to manage periodic job cost review.
· Participate in cross-functional teams to streamline internal processes and improve overall financial project performance.
· Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
· Assist in project audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
· Other duties as assigned.
