Project Accountant provides cost management services including budgeting, invoice management, cash flow forecasting and reporting, budget management, change order management, contract administration, close out administration, procurement management, and document control.. The candidate will assist the Project Managers with the planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting on multiple projects of varying contract type, size, complexity, and levels of risk. The candidate will have significant interface with Project Managers, Contract Management staff, Finance, Accounting, Accounts Receivable, and Clients, as well as other functional organizations.
Additional Duties/ Responsibilities
- Facilitate client review and approval of submitted invoices
- Provide project accounting services to support business needs
- Preparing monthly financial reports
- Assist in the review and processing of sub-consultant invoices
- Perform QA review of invoice, documentation and tracking spreadsheets
- Provide support for project teams across the Pacific Northwest
- Responsible for supporting multiple projects concurrently
- Support project managers routing and processing charters, change orders and purchase orders
- Experience with document control and administrative tasks
- Develop and maintain project budgets
- Develop and maintain project cash flow reports
- Manage accounts receivables according to specific guidelines and requirements
- Ensure that all accounts receivables are maintained at a level not to exceed planned working capital charge as set by corporate finance, account finance team and/or the Market Leader
- This position requires self -starting skills. Excellent communication skills with proven decision making skills, work independently and possess the ability to function in a large corporate environment
Education
Bachelor Degree from an accredited institution in Accounting, Finance, Business, Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management strongly preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities (KSA)
- 2-5 years practical experience in a project administration / accounting position preferred
- Experience in the construction industry or real estate preferred
- Highly organized with strong analytical skills and drive to learn
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with executive level external and internal clients
- Organizational skills with the ability to identify and manage priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Ability to multi-task and work both in a team and independently
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficiency with Excel and Smartsheet
