Responsibilities
We’re seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant with strong problem-solving skills, computer literacy, and outstanding customer service skills. This person must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, math proficiency as well as the ability to multi-task several different responsibilities. This individual works well under pressure in a deadline-driven, team-oriented environment and knows how to prioritize as well as when to involve upper management
What you'll be challenged to do:
- Process the setup of new opportunities and projects in Vision, CostPoint, and Project Forecast and gain appropriate authorization and approvals
- Process the setup of new projects, supplements, adjust budgets, update end dates, complete modification requests and track approval status through final validation
- Review contract documents for billing terms and conditions
- Prepare subconsultant agreements, review unpaid sub reports and monitor budgets
- Prepare and provide documentation to internal teams
- Review prebills and prepare and process client invoices that are compliant with contract terms and client specific needs and ensure they are properly entered into the accounting system
- Track monthly unbilled amounts to ensure all projects are reviewed, billed and processed timely, and assess potential revenue adjustments
- Filing, copying and pulling invoice backup
- Track ARs and champion collection efforts
- Maintain project files
- Assisting with project reviews
- Assisting Business Manager with office and area needs
- Act as the point of contact for the office
- Ability to handle multiple projects and flexible to change
- Receive and process Accounts Payables
- Daily communication with HQ Accounting team with invoicing, project setup/supplementing and other issues as they arise
- Daily & diverse communication with PM’s, local/area/regional leadership as well as field crews
- Maintain Local office checking account and process check requests
- Assist with Onboarding, to include time sheet and expense report training
- Serve as a Notary Public
Qualifications
What you bring to our firm:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in an accounting role. Four year degree may be substituted for experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
- Experienced in frequent interface with company peers, office personnel, middle and upper management, corporate employees, and client
- Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members
- Actively advocates for full inclusion in the workplace, fostering an environment that welcomes diversity and values equity for all employees, partners, clients, and the communities that TranSystems serves
What we’d prefer for you to bring to our firm:
- Four year degree
- Background in project accounting with an engineering or construction company
- Architectural/Engineering industry experience
- Familiarity with Deltek products (Vision, CostPoint, VantagePoint)
- Knowledge of municipal, city, state, and federal billing practices desired, such as Certified Payroll, Waivers of Lien, and electronic invoice submittals.
- Notary Public registration

- This role will be present in the Wichita office 5 days a week
