Project Controls Manager develops and implements standardized project controls to manage budgets, scheduling, and quality for engineering, construction, and other types of projects. Establishes controls and operating policies that identify, monitor, and mitigate risk factors that could impact the success of a project. Being a Project Controls Manager creates standard methods for project estimating, procurement, accounting, work breakdown structure, contract management, reporting, and other project-related processes. Ensures controls address cost or budget considerations, scope changes, supplier performance, and other risk levels. Additionally, Project Controls Manager provides guidance and consultation to project managers. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Project Controls Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Project Controls Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.   • POSITION SUMMARY:
    As an important part of the team, the Project Manager is responsible for helping oversee the delivery of creative team projects to ensure that they are achieved within the agreed-upon timing, cost and quality objectives. In
    close cooperation with the Creative Director, the Project Manager plays an integral role in overseeing creative projects in Lytho (our creative operations platform) through assigning work, designating route templates, and setting and tracking key project deadlines. Serves as the liaison between the Marketing team and various vendors in the requesting of new quotes and the monitoring of production timelines to ensure projects remain on track and are delivered in full. Position requires excellent organization and time management skills, resourcefulness, project and budget management experience, and ability to communicate effectively across teams as well as externally.


    OBJECTIVES OF ROLE:

    • Oversees a variety of creative projects from inception through to completion, including the planning, assignment,
      coordination and tracking of all creative development resources and projects
    • Creates and diligently maintains the team production schedule on a timely basis, communicating the schedule to
      both the team and marketing leadership with clearly identified priorities, deadlines, and job parameters
    • Responsible for preparing and presenting updates regularly to the appropriate groups to ensure deadlines and
      goals are achieved
    • Establish and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status
      and changes
       

    CREATIVE PROJECT MANAGEMENT & LTYHO:

    • Oversee the assigned workflows, routing paths, timelines, and delivery details involved with all creative team
      projects through Lytho
    • Monitor Lytho for incoming requests and work with DOC to assign appropriate team members to open jobs
    • Monitor routing within Lytho and track progress to maintain on-time delivery of all projects
    • Facilitate the weekly creative team production meetings to keep creative initiatives moving forward against
      key timelines
    • Monitor print production and mailing schedules internally and externally
    • Assist Print Production & Fulfillment Manager with Creative Production calendar
    • Mentor the Print Production & Fulfillment Manager encouraging professional growth and collaboration
       

    VENDOR MANAGEMENT & COMMUNICATIONS:

    • In partnership with Print Production & Fulfillment Manager, maintain ongoing relationships with all creative and
      fulfillment vendors (i.e. printers) for ongoing project collaboration and quality control
    • Working with the Print Production & Fulfillment Manager, Brand team and DOC to brainstorm best-in-class
      options for collateral and obtain detailed estimates from vendors (sometimes multiple) to ensure we stay as cost
      effective as possible while maintaining quality and brand standards.
    • Assist with the coordination and payment of freelancers for press checks and other project work, as needed
    • Working with Print Production & Fulfillment Manager, monitor and track inventory of marketing collateral,
      paper, and other storage materials to ensure we have the correct amount of brochure collateral and other
      materials to fulfill for sales, prospecting, and daily fulfillment at CMS, DCG, other print vendors, and within our
      own mailroom facilities
       

    SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 5-9 years of creative project and budget management experience
    • Thorough understanding of the creative development process
    • Proven track record in managing schedules and workflow across multiple channels and planning print
      production jobs
    • Highly organized with excellent communication skills
    • A self-starter with an ability to operate autonomously and adapt to a changing environment
    • Demonstrated team player and ability to show positive attitude under pressure and deliver results
    • An understanding of working with online project management platforms a plus
