Our client is seeking a construction project engineer to join their team in their Newport News office. Our client, one of the most well known general contractors in the area is seeking a project engineer with commercial construction experience. A construction management degree is preferred as well. The project engineer will work closely with the subcontractors and suppliers and all members of the project team to form an effective management team for their clients.

Be an advocate in application on W. M. Jordan’s Safety and Health Management Program
Collaborate with Project Manager and Superintendent in the application of company processes and project operations
Organize and manage submittal processes (log development, processing, etc.)
Manage project coordination with all project trade partners, subcontractors, and suppliers
Coordinate material delivery requirements with superintendent, subcontractors, and suppliers
Initiate, research, and track Requests for Information (RFI’s)
Field questions from subcontractors and suppliers relative to shop drawings and contract requirements
Manage various document control methods such as submittal logs, material procurement logs, RFI logs, contract documents (field and electronic copies)
Assist with Lean processes implemented on projects
Participate in and/or facilitate jobsite progress meetings to include documenting minutes
