Provides technical support for the engineering process and contributes to the completion of a project. Being a Project Engineer analyzes project requirements and performs standard technical calculations. Reviews reports of production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine or address problems. Additionally, Project Engineer requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Project Engineer works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. F.H. Paschen is looking for a qualified Project Engineer to join our project team in the Savannah and Charleston areas. While this is an entry-level role, you will be involved in many facets of construction and have the ability to evolve our existing operations. As the Project Engineer, you will help the project team with all administration and documentation of the construction project while providing support to assist the team in overseeing one to two trades on a larger project or many trades on smaller projects.
Assigned Responsibilities:
- Represent and demonstrate the values of F.H. Paschen: tenacity, versatility, ingenuity, and pride.
- Ability to participate in preconstruction services, including estimating and value engineering
- Track material procurement and coordinate deliveries
- Produce project schedules with site superintendent
- Review and determine suitability of submittals
- Quote/qualify subcontractor requests for change orders
- Track status of change orders
- Track status of Requests for Information
- Collect, verify and distribute as-builts
- Maintain project close-out documents
- Assist with field supervision
- Blueprint reading
- Quantity take-offs
- Subcontractor solicitations
- Correspondence
- Document Control
- Subcontractor Coordination
- Other duties as assigned
