Working with our estimating department, the candidate will be responsible for take-offs, pricing, acquiring quotations from sub-contractors and vendors, keeping track of pipeline estimates, attending pre-bid meetings and site visits, writing site visit and meeting reports, and keeping strong relations with company’s clients. The candidate’s responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

· Prepare cost estimates for federal, state, local, and commercial construction, construction management, property maintenance and management, and environmental projects based on standard engineering methods and practices.

· Analyze and evaluate offers provided by sub-contractors and vendors.

· Write cost proposals, scope of works, budget reports, and project plans.

· Prepare project schedules for complex projects through MS Project or Primavera P6.

· Schedule meetings with clients, office staff, subcontractors, and vendors.

PROJECT ESTIMATOR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

· Have experience with different estimating modules preferably as many as possible from; parametric, analogous, three-point, top-down, bottom-up (engineering), PMIS, and vendor bid analysis estimation modules.

· Strong math skills including algebra, geometry, and basic arithmetic.

· Ability to navigate specifications and plans.

· Proficiency in demonstrating proposals and projects.

· Ability to handle multiple assignments at once.

· Knowledge of the latest federal, state, and local building codes, regulations, and requirements.

· Can use Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe.

· Close attention to detail

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

· A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, architecture, or mathematics is required.

· Training and certification in Estimating (Preferred)

· At least three (3) years of experience in estimating federal, state, local, and commercial projects.
