Project Manager - Construction directs day-to-day construction project management planning and execution processes to meet project design requirements, schedules, and organizational financial objectives. Manages governance of projects by establishing standards, processes, and tools for effective project management throughout the project lifecycle. Being a Project Manager - Construction uses comprehensive knowledge of construction processes and operations to set project productivity and quality targets. Monitors all project milestones, changes, and technical status reports. Additionally, Project Manager - Construction manages strategic client and contractor relationships and establishes clear lines of communication. Responds to escalated project issues that may impede project delivery and coordinates solutions. Analyzes project metrics to identify weaknesses or problems and propose operational improvements and cost savings for future projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Project Manager - Construction supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Project Manager - Construction typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Job Description: As a Concrete and Masonry Estimator at Ogden Brothers Construction, you will play a critical role in our project development process by accurately estimating costs and resources for concrete and masonry work. Your expertise will ensure that our projects are competitively priced, financially viable, and delivered on time and within budget.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Estimating:
    • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to understand the scope of work related to concrete and masonry.
    • Quantify materials, labor, equipment, and other resources required for rebar, concrete forming & pouring, block laying, brickwork, and related activities.
    • Utilize estimating software and tools to prepare accurate cost estimates, including material take-offs, labor costs, subcontractor bids, and overhead expenses.
    • Bid Preparation:
    • Prepare comprehensive and competitive bid proposals for concrete and masonry projects, adhering to project requirements, timelines, and budget constraints.
    • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure timely submission of bid documents.
    • Review and analyze bid documents, contracts, and specifications to identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering alternatives.
    • Collaboration:
    • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to review project plans, discuss specifications, and address any potential challenges or value engineering opportunities.
    • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations to represent Ogden Brothers Construction and provide expertise on concrete and masonry-related matters.
    • Cost Control:
    • Monitor project costs, budgets, and expenditures throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to estimated values and identify variances or cost-saving opportunities.
    • Work proactively with project teams to propose and implement cost-effective solutions, value engineering strategies, and alternatives without compromising quality or safety.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred, but not required.
    • Proven experience (2 years) as an estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on concrete and masonry projects.
    • Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., ProEst, Bluebeam, Procore) and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, codes, and regulations related to concrete and masonry work.
    • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Effective communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
    • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
