Project Manager - Construction directs day-to-day construction project management planning and execution processes to meet project design requirements, schedules, and organizational financial objectives. Manages governance of projects by establishing standards, processes, and tools for effective project management throughout the project lifecycle. Being a Project Manager - Construction uses comprehensive knowledge of construction processes and operations to set project productivity and quality targets. Monitors all project milestones, changes, and technical status reports. Additionally, Project Manager - Construction manages strategic client and contractor relationships and establishes clear lines of communication. Responds to escalated project issues that may impede project delivery and coordinates solutions. Analyzes project metrics to identify weaknesses or problems and propose operational improvements and cost savings for future projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Project Manager - Construction supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Project Manager - Construction typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. If you want to grow your skills and develop your career, find out more at www.imerys.com The PositionProject Manager Job Summary ● Mentor other Engineers in the Team to help elevate the team to the next level ● Develop testing processes, and perform testing and validation of new designs ● Generate working prototypes for beta testing and customer demonstration ● Perform engineering calculations to support design work ● Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software ● Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering maintenance and operations teams, and work with vendors and contractors ● Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process ● Ensure project timeline is met and project stays within budget ● Have familiarity with Project management and tools ● Ensuring each project stays within the allocated budget and timeframe ● Scheduling meetings and updating status regularly ● Help maintaining Capital project approval process from start to finish developing and maintaining the budget EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: ● Bachelor's Degree - Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering ● Project Management Certification ideal, but not required ● 5 years of experience working in engineering projects for heavy process industry, as well as experience with solid handling (conveyors, piping, etc.) ● Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience in designing mechanical and electromechanical systems and products ● Ability to clearly communicate concepts and ideas ● Strong leadership, organizational and time management skills ● Positive attitude and willingness to work long hours to finish targets ● Excellent math skills: ability to apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve problems ● Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, 3D and 2D modeling tools or similar ● Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability ● Knowledge of procurement and engineering equipment and construction contracts, ideal.
