Project Manager - Construction directs day-to-day construction project management planning and execution processes to meet project design requirements, schedules, and organizational financial objectives. Manages governance of projects by establishing standards, processes, and tools for effective project management throughout the project lifecycle. Being a Project Manager - Construction uses comprehensive knowledge of construction processes and operations to set project productivity and quality targets. Monitors all project milestones, changes, and technical status reports. Additionally, Project Manager - Construction manages strategic client and contractor relationships and establishes clear lines of communication. Responds to escalated project issues that may impede project delivery and coordinates solutions. Analyzes project metrics to identify weaknesses or problems and propose operational improvements and cost savings for future projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Project Manager - Construction supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Project Manager - Construction typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Position Description: Partner with the BU EHSD, PX, PM and Superintendents to ensure project site compliance with Company Environmental, Health & Safety and risk control policies and procedures. Lead, direct and enforce safety on a single construction project or on multiple smaller projects (not to exceed combined total of $40M) within the business unit’s geographic area, based on the safety staffing requirements as defined by Headquarters EH&S*. Identify, eliminate and control hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and or property damage using job specific safety standards, best management practices, and the Building L.I.F.E. program.
