Proof Barbeque (voted #2 Best BBQ by the Cleveland Scene in 2022 and recently re-opened in our brand new, completely renovated Ohio City location at 4116 Lorain Ave. in Cleveland) is looking for talented, enthusiastic Bartender/Servers to join us as we enter into outdoor patio season!

Proof is a single, start-up, casual dining restaurant in a new neighborhood with a new look and atmosphere, so our bartender/servers have a unique opportunity to help us grow and develop our business. We are a smaller operation (seating 50 guests inside and 40 outside on our patio) so we have the flexibility to be a bit more creative in our offerings.

In this role, you will have input into our featured drinks, what alcohol we carry, helping us brainstorm special events/promotions, and more. We’re looking for bartenders/servers who have the patience and desire to evolve with a growing team and actively contribute to the reinvention of our restaurant.

• Put their best foot forward to offer the best of everything to their guests by being professional, courteous, efficient, communicative, and attentive to details
• Like to work hard but have fun too
• Have had experience working in a full-service restaurant (at least 3 years of experience preferred but not required)
• Know how to work through the sometimes chaotic/stressful situations typical to the restaurant business

Hours/Shifts:

• Open Wednesday through Sunday: Wednesday through Friday is 4 PM to 10 PM, Saturday is Noon to 11 PM, and Sunday is Noon to 8 PM.
• Our bar closes 2 hours after the kitchen
• Applicants must be able to work evenings and weekends

We offer $6 per hour with pooled tips, as well as employee food discounts.

Specific duties will include:

• Creating consistent, quality cocktails and serving food/beverages to dine-in and take-out patrons, working alongside our other Bartender/Servers to provide exceptional customer service
• Greeting and seating guests as they enter the restaurant
• With training, being able to demonstrate complete knowledge of our food/drink menus
• Taking and entering orders correctly, as well as taking/processing payment correctly
• Managing take-out orders that come in online and via phone
• Bussing tables and washing glassware
• Balancing the cash drawer by counting cash at beginning and end of work shift
• Maintaining a safe and clean working environment at all times by complying with our procedures, rules, and regulations
