Property Casualty Underwriting Manager manages and oversees the property/casualty insurance underwriting program for individuals and/or groups, such as accident insurance, crime insurance, loss of property insurance etc. Implements guidelines and procedures regarding risk exposure, application renewal, acceptance, modification, and denial. Leads and trains the underwriters to ensure integrity of property and casualty underwriting activities and processes. Being a Property Casualty Underwriting Manager experienced in risk management and complex applications. Provides consultative support for large accounts. Additionally, Property Casualty Underwriting Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically requires certification as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU). Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Property Casualty Underwriting Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions.     The Rocky Hill office is seeking enthusiastic professionals to join our expanding operations as an Property Manager. The Property Manager will also be the communication liaison between the corporate office and our clients and will be responsible for resolving any issue that may arise by working with the CCO team.

    General Responsibilities/Tasks

    • Reviews and abstracts leases
    • Update and maintain internal databases
    • Responsible for all correspondence with clients, contractors, and in-house departments
    • Generates standard and develops internal reports for status of each client weekly/monthly
    • Processes all client expenses
    • Create new more efficient processes as the role grows
    • Other related tasks as needed
    • Up to 50% travel required

    Property Maintenance and Client Interaction

    • Conduct regular property inspections and visitations with clients
    • Provide prompt, professional response and follow through regarding client inquiries, problems, and complaints
    • Coordinate move-in for new clients and move-out inspections for clients vacating their space
    • Update and maintain property condition reports with respect to roofs, HVAC units, parking lot, etc.
    • Obtain bids and manage capital improvement projects
    • Coordinate client finish construction with client and contractors
    • Supervise contractors and maintenance staff for services and repairs to property
    • Assist with the preparation of rent commencement letters, delivery notices, etc., for new clients
    • Complete other special projects and duties as assigned

    Vendor Management

    • Maintain a file of Certificates of Insurance for both clients and vendors
    • Prepare new vendor contracts and manage renewals
    • Maintain a schedule of service contracts and a list of preferred vendors in each trade by property

    Property Reporting and Accounting

    • Prepare comprehensive management reports for all management clients on a monthly basis, including various analyses
    • Prepare and manage annual operating budgets
    • Review real estate tax assessments, and coordinate appeals when necessary
    • Manage the recurring manual billings (water, sewer, electric, etc.)
    • Coordinate collection efforts of accounts receivable
    • Review annual expense reconciliations and handle correspondence with clients
