Senior Finance Manager

    The Senior Finance Manager reports and works with the Director of Finance. In this role, the Senior Finance Manager will collaborate with the Controller, Senior Managers, Directors of Rubicon Programs, and the Landscape Group as well as other stakeholders and business partners. This is a full-time exempt position with supervisory responsibility.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Budgeting including responsibility for drafting, recommending, finalizing, implementing, and coordinating the annual Programs budget and budgets for the Rubicon Landscape Group.
    • Contract, Grant Fiscal Management, and Compliance involving complete responsibility for optimizing spending/drawdowns, fiscal compliance and monitoring, collaboration, and communication with divisional business partners, funders, and all other stakeholders, and for all public contracts and grants financial reporting and billing quality assurance. Receivables management and collection.  Includes working collaboratively in preparing contract and grant budgets and budget modifications.
    • Compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, with external government requirements and reporting, and with funders.  Maintains a state of compliance and audit readiness, with adequate, well-documented, and adhered-to accounting policies and procedures.
    • Financial Reporting including preparing monthly reports for Executive Team review as well as periodic reports for Finance Committee and Board of Directors for all entities.
    • Project Management for various finance department initiatives including optimizing financial systems and documenting policies and procedures.
    • Supervise staff, including hiring, promoting, coaching, and managing the performance of direct reports and those below.

    COMPETENCIES

    • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles; quantitative, analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills and abilities; detail-oriented.  Expert understanding of budget principles and practices, accounting fundamentals (non-profit and for-profit), financial accounting systems and databases, report writing, database queries; sophisticated quantitative and analytical skills, and proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc).
    • Ability to interact effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.  Initiative, interpersonal flexibility; teamwork, attention to detail, solid negotiating ability, and excellent oral and written communication skills are critical qualifications.
    • Excellent people and project management, supervisory, and problem-solving abilities.
    • At least 10 years of professional accounting experience.
    • Can effectively cope with change; can shift gears comfortably; can decide and act without having the total picture; can comfortably handle risk and uncertainty.

    • If you do not currently possess our organizational core competencies of Trauma Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, and Coaching, you are expected to participate in the necessary training Rubicon provides.

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    • Starting pay: $95k-$120k
