Psychiatrist jobs in Hammond, IN

Psychiatrist evaluates, diagnoses and treats patients with mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and/or medication. Performs initial psychiatric assessments, develops individualized care plans, and implements treatment for the patient. Being a Psychiatrist prescribes psychopharmacological medications as needed. Monitors and records client progress, and amends treatment plan according to patient response. Additionally, Psychiatrist requires a MD degree. Must have completed a psychiatry residency. Typically reports to a medical director. Typically requires board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). Requires a state license to practice.     Salary and Benefits:

    • Salary Range: $300,000 to $320,000 annually
    • Vacation: 160 hours
    • Personal Time: 40 hours
    • Continuing Medical Education (CME): 40 hours, allowance of $2,500
    • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
    • Life Insurance: 1.5x the provider’s salary
    • Short-Term and Long-Term Disability
    • 401k Plan: matches up to 4%
    • FTCA Malpractice Insurance

    Responsibilities:

    • Schedules such as 5-8s, 4-10s, ensuring Work / Life Balance
    • No On-Call, No Nights, No Weekends
    • Full Support Staff to aid in patient care and clinic operations.
    • Autonomy in psychiatric practice and patient management.

    Requirements:

    • Open to New Graduates as well as experienced practitioners
    • Compassionate, patient-centered approach in psychiatric care
    • Clear and Active Psychiatrist License in the State of Indiana
